The first perception one may have of a computer hacker is a socially challenged teenager with too much time on his hands. Unfortunately, this stereotype is not descriptive of the computer hackers today. They have evolved and partake in various fraud schemes and in many instances package and resell stolen information to other criminals. There are no boundaries to age, gender, or nationality.

Computers are a way of life and yet two decades ago computers did not even exist, well, not personal computers like the type that every single person in America owns and has in their home or office. Sometimes keeping up with the technology is not easy at all. There are always new words to learn with each new technology and it is as enough you have to learn a whole new language just to understand what those in the industry are talking about.

And Microsoft has the advantage because their operating systems run on 95% of all computers in the World. Under the leadership of Bill Gates in all his creating brilliance and genius, he created one of the most dynamic and largest companies on a surface of the planet.

There are some dedicated folks in law enforcement and our CIA that are computer forensic experts. They along with the US Military and International Intelligence community are busy working to infiltrate, track and catch International Terrorists before they strike. Easier said than done and it takes one heck of a lot of cooperation to make all this happen, but it is happening and there have been several high profile success stories as well.

One of the biggest problems with computer users is that they really do not understand how their computer actually works. They do not fully comprehend the binary codes, which everyone should understand. They do not understand how the electronics work in their computer; they just do not get it they do not know how things work like the mother board, CPU, hard drive or understand the software or how it all works.

DLL Error Messages are not very welcome for users who constantly encounter them as they bring the whole computer to a standstill. These errors are difficult to identify and repair.

The field of computer forensics is growing rapidly and for someone who is looking to get into this industry and make a career of it, there is quite a bit of upward mobility, not just in law enforcement, but in Corporate America as well. Right now there is a shortage of such professionals and it is a growing field. Gaining the knowledge needed to become proficient is not a walk in the park, but well worth the effort.

Everyone fears losing their data; Governments, Big Corporations, Nonprofits and you and I as well. Imagine losing all your work and the hard drive on your computer. Today, most of the laptops and computers we buy have parts in them made all over the world, many of these parts are built in places that exploit labor and are not as modern as the factories in the United States, and their quality control is not as stellar as you might assume, even if at one time they were ISO 9000 certified.

In order to enter the field, you should strongly consider enrolling in a program that allows you to earn a bachelor or master computer forensics degree.

It is a common experience among the user of personal computers, or PCs, to find that the performance of their computer deteriorate over a period of time. Laments such as computer running slow, my pc is slow etc., prop up in informal meetings of these PC users.
